Huntington Richmond Senior Apartments - Richmond, TX, Fort Bend County

ACE is actively assisting Complainants with discrimination claims against both the Property Management Company and the Owner/Developer of this complex. Mitigation of multiple housing violations include complaints to various oversight agencies such as: The Housing & Urban Development (HUD) agency, Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) & other agencies /offices as appropriate. Claims involve incorrect rent determinations pertaining to affordable housing guidelines, non-compliance with reasonable accommodation requests, etc. Updates will be provided here on our website as new developments and/or solutions materialize.

ACE serves as an advocate in the community to help promote bridging gaps between law enforcement and the community.
Currently we are advocating for Fort Bend County to cease and desist sharing arrest data, which include mugshots of anyone who has been arrested for any reason, but not yet found guilty of a crime.  This practice is damaging to individuals, and serves more harm than good, especially if the individual is later found not guilty; and as a result, could cause severe hardships, embarrassment and inconveniences for those individuals in many facets of community and their personal lives (e.g. - employment, education, financially, etc.). This practice reaches back over a century and a half, and the reasoning behind it is outdated and serves no good purpose, and is a direct contradiction of the 5th Amendment (Presumption of Innocence - "innocent until proven guilty").  As a people we need to ensure that our practices coincide with and support our laws and constitution.
ACE and the Sheriff's Office Leadership team understands these concerns and are working together and are optimistic of a positive outcome.

Texas State Capital

In April 2023 ACE partnered with other advocacy groups to petition for the implementation of school chaplains in Texas public schools to better align resources to address mental health matters, crisis management and other duties essential to counseling and mentoring more from a spiritual perspective. See TX House Bill 3614 for more information.
